mormon emigrant trail
Who is down to meet up in Placerville this weekend to go for a drive to Tahoe out mormon emigrant trail? Epic roads and views on the way towards Kirkwood. Possible photo shoot out at Caples or Blue Lake. Hit me up if you are interested. Don't forget SubieFest is next week down in Pomona, CA

We went up Saturday afternoon to Silver lake on Hwy 88, ran in to some snow along the side of the road. We though we could take Mormon Emigrant Trail back to 50 on the way home.. we get about 1/2 mile in and find its pretty covered in snow.
If you got the clearance, traction and guts, then I won't tell you not to go, just giving you a heads up that the higher elevations may have snow on them.

I live up in Placerville dude. I know when that road has snow or not. Iv already went all the way to 88 with snow on the road. I also took a drive to the edge of desolation out by wrights lake. So stop being a mood killer and go on a killer drive. Bunch of city folks that are scared to be on real roads. Probaaly never driven in snow or dirt in their lives. You Should of just got a honda not a Subaru

Woah... Settle.. No need for harshness.
We take the OBS to some crazy places, quite likely we've explored more off highway areas than many that visit the forum. Dirt, snow, mud, rocks, etc. Heck I've taken my Altima places some wouldn't consider going.
I only mentioned previously because we were just up there and driving the snow laden road at night up a rather freakish looking hill made us second guess the drive down the trail from 88.
I was in no way stopping you or anyone else. Just giving you a heads up if you haven't been up or down it recently. That's all.
