and as posted above by McDrama, you SHOULD have turned around. that was lame. its a nice LEISURELY cruise on a Sunday morning, not the Woodside 500. by the way, who won? next time, go at a pace where everyone can keep up. and i'll have to post the next drive a little further in advance, that way McDrama can join in.
This is my first drive, so I didn't really know what the "rules" were. Anyway, I'm glad ur alright and no **** went down with the popo. I think Group B was concerned about going back if there was CHP there, his exhaust and all.

We did wait at 35 and Alpine Rd. for 30 mins but noone showed up.

Next time, we need radios...live and learn I guess.

Radios for at least 3 people in the group, one up front, one in the middle, and one at the end which is the sweeper car.

You need to keep in mind not everybody knows the back grounds like some others do.
I would probably have joined this drive had I known about it. Though hearing the way things went, I am glad I did my 110 mile solo south-east bay drive... which was ****ING AWESOME!!!
Took me about 3 hours with a few pee stops, and just cruising getting to know the road.

some quotes from the MINI site, it seems like you should have been towards the back of the pack, that's all...

plus we should have all exchanged cell phone numbers since we didn't have radios.

<SNIP>

You'll have to ask the Subaru Impreza about that We were all behind him and before you knew it, we didn't see you anymore. Thought we all got ditched?? We stopped accross from Alice's for a while and the Subaru went home shortly after that. We continued on. Had a real nice ride though! Hey Lyle, what happened to you??

We went down Stage Rd and stopped at Pescadero and grabbed some sandwiches and had a nice "picnic" under some trees. We continued on to HWY 1 up the coast to Half Moon Bay and did another "loop" for the fun of it. Had a real nice time. Glad to have met everyone. We'll be ready for another run. This time we will keep up

Lidia

<SNIP>

Sorry Lidia, I got kinda busy and forgot to call u back.

I had to pass the white subie to get some good motorin' in but I still wanna meet up with you Group B and Bass to see how well I can hang with you guys.
RIP little rabbit.
Lyle

<SNIP>

Well, you probably would of seen me if I didn't get behind the 1.8 subie, but its all good, I still had fun. Let me know when you guys are gunna do another run cause I wanna roll.

they had two white Camaros and a Motorcycle parked in prone position right in the intersection, and the CHPs were standing outside their cars chatting, pointing and gesturing at cars as they went by.

also on the way in on 92, shortly after it ceases to be a freeway anymore, there was a black and white CHP parked up on a traffic barrier, with his radar on, trying to intimidate those heading out to 35 and HMB.

I don't like the cops on 35, period.

the main thing is that a drive should accomodate all drivers if possible, so if you intend on going faster, then stay towards the front of the pack.

if you think you're just going to be cruising, going slower, or if you're not sure, then just stay towards the back of the pack or at the end.

"no worries, mate"

im not giving **** up. like i said, i can hang with the crew i normally drive with, no problem. and no, they dont hang back and do 30. and no, they actually do touch boost. for an underpowered car, i can hang, just not with YOU GUYS.... i figured u would be able to figure that out.....

ask SF MIAMI WRX, or MY2003WRX, or Squidney, or Scoobysnacks98.... they all know what I, and my car are capable of...... or for that matter, you can also ask EJ25RS, as i hung with him on Mt. Hammy....

im not *****ing, crying, whining, or complaining......

just agreeing with McDrama
