I haven't lived in Man Jose for a while now, but how's the little plaza on 2300 Almaden Rd down the street from the Plant?

It has a Starbucks & a Quiznos among other small businesses. It's also home to a 24-Hr Fitness that was converted from a supermarket. GoogleMaps has it listed as Willow Glen Shopping Center, but the signage on StreetView say Willow Glen Plaza.

The location still fits the bill as far as being central to all the other parts of SJ.

 

If the plant is too "ghetto" then I think that plaza is a bit worse

There is a smaller parking lot with a Starbucks down monterey rd where the city diner is at. Might be too small though.

If a bit farther is ok there are a few spots up the hill by aborn there's evergreen village square. I've passed by there very nice neighborhood you park all around the center square which is like a small park
There's a coffee shop, evergreen coffee something and a cvs plus ice cream I think

man I have been going to different meets but really a close one like this would be great for me and my friends. I live really close to the plant and evergreen that I really would not mind the drive. Evergreen would be nicer if we could pick a area with a nice view. The Plant is a kool area, that's also were the bike parties meet since they have a large parking space and people really don't complain about noise or anything, and there is many places that are open late in case of people being hungry or just want to relax and drink coffee what eever. But just let me know if something gets held near by.

 

I used to just head to Quickly in Milpitas. The s2k guys meet there too.
