Weekend Thunderhill driving event 1/9-10

January 9-10 there is a two day HPDE/PDX type event at Thunderhill with the Audi Club. An Audi is not required, but Audi club membership is. ($44/yr)

Thunderhill is one of the best learning tracks, and the Audi club has some great instructors, especially for those of you with AWD cars. I will be the intermediate/advanced chief instructor.

Full details are here:

The entry fee is $450 for the 2 day school. This includes everything necessary for a weekend of learning more about yourself and your car. Tech, Friday night reception at Thunderhill Raceway, classroom materials, classroom instruction, on track instruction, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, also Saturday night banquet , and auction (great bargains), at The Old HWY 99 Steakhouse (formerly Pat N’ Larrys Steak House) and don't forget, the two days of on track driving.

i have been to a few audi club trackdays and they are a-ok.

on a side note, if you do plan on going, plan to sit in the pits unless you are a member because they don't even allow non-members to ride along.

Just to clarify...

Anyone registered to drive in the event has to be or become a member and any member can ride along with any instructor and is encouraged to do so whenever the instructors are on track which is at least 3 run groups per day. If you own an Audi, you can also add a "family member" to your membership for $10 and then they can ride with instructors.

It is true that you cannot ride with your buddies, unless they are an instructor. So guests or spectators will be stuck in the paddock.
