Thumbs up TSD Rally this weekend

PCA is putting on their February Frolic which is an all DIYS (do it yourself) rally.
Instead of having workers out to record your time of passge, you fill out your own time sheet, based on the miles you've driven and the assigned speed.

This one starts in Dublin and finishes in San Jose, but only uses about 14 miles of highway for the odometer check (i.e. lots of very twisty back roads that some of you probably already know quite well)

I did a pre-check Friday night, and I would suggest that navigators take dramamine or other car-sickness abatement measures, I didn't and I paid the price.

But it should be a fun rally, some of you guys should get out for it

DO you remeber the name of the road that we took a left on after John D Grant park?

It was awesome. Steep and hairpin after hairpin.

John, the road was Quimby. Rich, if you give me a fax number I will send you the generals and route instructions and you can run it. PM me your elapsed times and I'll score it for you. This is a special service for those too cheap to pay the entry fee.

Hey Rich,
I pre checked this with Pete. Roads were awesome. Unfortunately I had to trade seats part way through because someone got carsick ... ;~} I have a copy of the RI's. I would love to go out and drive it again - when it's not raining. Give me a shout it you want to get a small group together - that would be much more fun than running it solo.

That's the beauty of DIY checkpoints, you drive to them at your preferred pace, then just fill your score sheet out based on the calcs!
