Thunderhill Track Day 08/16

I'll be headed to this event with another i-clubber or two on the 16th. Can't beat $125! Stop being a poser and take your car to the track!

Ugh. I want to go so bad. I have been to so many events there and never raced because it was always drifting.
The one time I have all the time off in the world, I am broke and injured.
Someone go have fun!

I actually am interested, but I've never been to the track before though. I feel like it might not be worth it for me because it looks like there isn't an instructor or anything..?

It's not my event, I'm just trying to recruit some Subie buddies. Limitless only does a few a year.

There aren't instructors, but as long as you drive within your limits I don't think it would be a problem. If you want instruction, I would recommend NCRC. They have a $99 Thunderhill day coming up on 09/07! Northern California Racing Club - Schedule of Events

Always TONS of 240's in the drift group. If he's into drifting I'm sure he'd have a good time. There were even a couple of 240's in the grip groups too!

No, I didn't know him. He set the grass on fire and shortened our session. What a jerk!

His car was fine, I saw him out there all day.

Depends on what group is hosting the event. I've only run with ncrc (ncracing.org) twice last year at thunderhill. You have to roll down both front windows, some groups let you use motorcycle helmets (I use one), and you self-tech your car (ie check brake fluid, oil, empty out the entire car, etc). a regular stock 3-pt seatbelt is fine. Basically, you can go on the track 100% stock (which is what I've done so far). Being new to the track, you will typically get put in a newbie group (either with an instructor in the car or a follow-the-leader type thing where you follow an instructor around the track for 2-3 sessions).

Taking your car to the track is fun. I recommend ncrc since they're cheap ($99 on 9/7 but normally $125). You'll have a great time.
