anyone involved in this "organized" event happen to contact the boardwalk and let them know 150 plus cars are going to take over the boardwalk?

Not sure if you guys have been out there in mid summer but it's... packed.

There's NOTHING going on in Santa Cruz or south at the moment so I'd say any day locals are willing to show up would work.

I'd say supporting a smaller company like Aptos BBQ, Aptos Pizza or something like that would be cool.

It's really not that hard to set something up with them. Car clubs do it. I've been to a few car shows there.

But I can tell you right now that they had no idea this was going on.

For 1 the only thing good at Aptos st BBQ is the tritip that they sell out of if you get there too late. And the beers on tap are good.
But talk about no parking lol. And a ****storm to try and find if you've never been there lol. Granted its closer to you tho ray lol.

And on the note of parking at the boardwalk. Count me out. I have private parking a block from the boardwalk but I'll most likely just drive home after saying what's up to the I club guys.
Boardwalk on the weekend in the middle of summer is suicide to drive a car on beach st.
I waited for an hour one time just driving thru the short half mile street. Plus parking is like 10 bucks.

btw it was posted that they are going to bypass the los gatos side of highway 9 for the road work.
they decided to take bear creek to highway 9 which i think its a horrible idea. they are better off driving up black road to 35 and taking 35 to 9 so you can enjoy some of the drive atleast. bear creek bypasses the fun part of upper highway 9 with extra tight corners instead. and drops you off in boulder creek.

No I'm Forrest. I saw that post saying bear creek and have been up and down it multiple times.
I mean I'm following the crowd just an observation of route.

The smart thing would be to jump on 17 to bear the Lexington off ramp, then drive up to 35 and take it all the way out to highway 9. Bear creek is shorter but I didn't know it was a short way party or we might as well just take 17 there lol. Bear creek needs to be traveled slower too.

True on parking. Their pulled pork is bomb though.

Talked to the boardwalk. They know you're coming.

That may cause some problems for the caravan.
If you miss the light it takes about 5 minutes to cycle through as the area of road the are working on is rather long so the light has a long delay.
When i rode by on my bike this weekend it looked as if they will not be done in a month from now.

haha ya. and if u notice, if your side pushes bike button, the OTHER side turns green! OH, and that chopped in half boat just chillin on the side of hwy 9..LOL but ya hwy 9 for this is NOT a good idea. took me an hour to get up to vista with no traffic. just from the lights and idiots. 100+ cars? ill take my chances with traffic on 17. lol
