Santa Cruz/Monterey Caravan to Mt. Hamilton Meet

Meet up spot: Best Buy parking lot in Gilroy
When: 9am, would like to leave by 9:30am

Directions to Mt. Hamilton:

Take 101N to Alum Rock

Alum rock goes for a while... eventually it turns into two way traffic going up a slight hill... On the right side, you'll see MT HAMILTON ROAD. Turn right after the sign... Drive until you see Joseph D Grant Park. And you're there.

I was thinking in Seaside right off of HWY 1 you take the Fremont Blvd exit and there is a huge parking lot where KMART used to be, now it is the Home Depot, that way it is easier for the Santa Cruz peeps to get there. What do you guys think about that??

If you're gonna meet off the 1 it makes more sense to do it in aptos or santa cruz. That way those coming from there don't have to backtrack.

There's always the ugly mug of bay/porter. Or the parking lot over looking the beach off State Park next to the 76 station. Or even the parking lot by denny's in scotts valley.

If you do it off 101 I'd suggest 10th street in gilroy.

Yeah if those of you that are in the Santa Cruz area know of a good spot to meet up and easy access from the hwy then lets meet up there. Then those of us who are in Monterey can meet up off HWY 1 in Seaside and caravan to Santa Cruz. How does that sound to everyone?

How about meeting up on 41st avenue at the old Kmart parking lot? There is nothing in that lot anymore and there should be massive amounts of parking and its right off the freeway. The the run to Mt. Hamilton should be a breeze... i love hwy 17.

that wouldn't be a bad idea.

What time are we thinking...cause if it's early I want to be close to coffee.

figure it's gonna take like an hour and a half to get there from 41st.

you call that **** water coffee!!!!

I'll go another mile down the road to Coffeetopia and get some drip coffee or to the Ugly Mug. Booooo startbucks. Starbucks is only for when I feel lazy or there's no other options.

haaaa. The ugly mugs about as close to the spot and won't have to deal with the mall and I won't have to get 4 shots.

That parking lot should work I think. The mexicans still hang out there don't they? Looking for work? I know they used to. beyond that it's totally empty there.

I kind of like the idea of the lot by the beach by the 76 station so we can check tire pressure and gas up and what not. My buddy works there.
