Thanks for all the replies! I am dissecting every word you guys are putting down...

I worked group 2, and ran group 3 and ran home after that to my family. =) I wished I could have done a ride along in group 1; my only "free time". Since group 1 happened so early, are people open to being approached at the grid by a stranger asking, "can I ride along?"

I got several vids of group 1 going... what's the general consensus on posting up vids/pics of people you don't know at all? (I noted that no license plates are visible)

This was an awesome event and I hope we can revisit this venue again.
I'm still trying to figure out how I ended up with a fast lap of 1.21.
Post the times!!

hooray for cell phone movies:

Well that was a fun event dispite my dnf and 1.34 best run

My girlfriend did got some video, but the only subies were mine and Subie OCD's. I didn't manage to get any pictures either

However, if anyone has any video of car #21 (silver bugeye with unpainted morettes and an sti wing) I'd love to get a high-res copy.

Results are up. From the email:

Thank you everyone who come out to our inaugural RallyCross event at
Antioch! The results have been posted:

http://www.sfrscca.org/RallyX/scorin...2006.09.17.pdf

Current standings for the the 2006 SFR SCCA RallyCross Season have been
posted as well. The best 4 of 5 events will count for total year end points.

http://www.sfrscca.org/RallyX/scoring/standings2006.pdf

Coming up next month, October 21st, is the last SFR RallyCross for 2006. It
will take place at Thunderhill Park in Willows, CA. Please visit our site
for online registration and complete information. Also, unlike the Google
Maps directions to the Antioch Fairgrounds, the Yahoo! Maps directions to
Thunderhill Park are indeed CORRECT.

http://www.sfrscca.org/RallyX/

Keep an eye on our Gallery page for photos from the Antioch event - I will
post them as I receive them. Also, if you took photos at the event and would
like a link include on the Gallery page please drop me an email.

Again, thank you to everyone who came out to race, ride along, and watch the
race. We hope you all had a good time playing in the dirt!

last place in my class damn DNF screwed me over. if I did about the same as I did in the 3 runs I finished I would have gotten 7th place most likely (out of 9). Its not a big deal to me though, I go out there to have fun rather than shoot for first. I dont mind spending some time going sideways rather than forward

It can be pretty helpful to ride along with a fast driver. Pay attention to their feet (when are they braking, when hard on the gas?) and watch how much steering input they use. You can also get a feel for how much you can trust the car (ie... yes it can hold on if you give it more power in some places).

I don't think many people mind giving others rides. I don't mind at all, but if I start with someone in the passenger seat I like to keep it filled for all my runs. I tend to cut some cones pretty close, and changing the balast in the passenger seat may change my apex by just enough to kill some cones. Amazingly enough I didn't kill any cones this time! On official runs at least. I did get a too trigger happy around #8, spin a bit, then have to sit there for 6 long seconds as the dust cleared so I could figure out what the hell was going on. Probably a good show for the station workers at that turn though.

MoDrift = Skylar?

I wanted to ride with Skylar but his girlfriend is WAAAY prettier than me, so I don't blame him.

Yeah, that's me.

If you make it out to the event next month hit me up for a ride. It'll be fun. Also, Megan won't mind - each run she was like "are you sure no one else wants to take a ride" but no one had asked.

Generally the turnout at Thunderhill is lower which means more time for fun runs. Given that it's the last event of the year hopefully we'll start on time, run a tight ship, and have plenty of time to play at the end of the day.

My main goal is to have fun also, but I can't help but try to keep at least in sight of Pete & Marek. I'm stunned that I tied with Skylar
