Perseids Meteor Shower - 8/12 - 8/13
The Perseids meteor shower will peak tomorrow night. As usual, I will be up there taking some pictures, but I invite anyone that wishes to, to come hang out and enjoy the show. At the bottom is a google maps link to where I'll be. Look for silver bugeye on the right side of the road. Entrance to the trail should be back down the road 20-30 feet, on the other side of the road.
PLEASE LIMIT FLASHLIGHT USE! At past gatherings I've had many 9+ minute exposures ruined by flashlights. If flashlight use becomes an issue, I will ask those responsible to view the shower elsewhere.
DETAILS
Rendezvous Time: 12:00am (technically 8/13)
Location: 37.341136,-121.713924 (MAP)
Weather will be quite chilly at that hour, so dress warm. Also, bring a blanket to sit on or camping chairs. Please no alcohol.

Another note...
The lower road will be speckled with observers, so please limit your spirited driving habits. As you get closer to Joseph D Grant park there will be a lot more observers (most likely) so be careful and mature. Also, DO NOT go up to the observatory.

With very little light pollution from the moon, hopefully I'll have better luck this year.

Um, then you can meet about half a mile above that? I'm not setting up a meet, I'm inviting others to where I'll already be. I use that spot because it can fit multiple cars and is close to trail access.
