Official: VALLEJO STARBUCKS MEET, Tuesdays @ 5:30 PM
dont mean to interrupt you MADROX but i just need some opinions...HEY YALL ITS ROB (GC) ok heres the story i was heading down HW29 at 11pm (speed limit 55mph) i was going 70 while pacing with the SUV next to me...up ahead i seen the CHP parked in the grass with all his lights off (not even parking lights) so of course he got on the HW and pulled me and the SUV over and said he clocked me at 71mph. I kindly asked the officer how did he clock me...and he replied (we have a new system in our cars that act as a radar gun but is just a box thats in the dash) so i kindly asked again (can i see it so i know you really got me going 71?) and he replied (i already deleted it, and even if i didnt delete it...i dont have to show you)...then gave me my ticket and left...
should i fight it?!? is it true the cops need at least their parking lights on at night due to safety precautions? and dont they have to have the radar saved until everything is said and done?

i'll try but hella people (on other forums) are saying that the cop wasnt in the wrong at all so basically just me pay the fine and get it done..and since he put 71mph that means im 1mph over the eligibility for traffic school...so thats a point on my record
you can try to fight it.

im pretty sure they have past history records of what you were doing... so if he says he deleted it theres a way to pull it up. and him saying he doesnt have to show you pulls up curiosity of if he even clocked you at all... i would fight it... i have heard of the in dash radar tho. (nit sure if the napa cops have it or not i see them standing out of the car often with the hand-held one.

plead not guilty and see if he shows up to court. i've gotten dismissed from two tickets in a row by pleading not guilty and the cop not showing up. The courts usually push the dates months down the road.
so adam you're saying go to my first court hearing...claim (not guilty) then they will re-schedule for another hearing (which is months down the road) then go at it haha

yup the first appearance the cop isn't there. It's only to plead guilty, not guilty, or no contest. But yea if you plead not guilty then they'll schedule a court date where you and the cop will both be there. If the cop doesn't show or you prove your case they'll throw it out.
great im doing that then thanks...this is the first time i ever wanted to fight a ticket so i hope it works out...my main argument is basically i asked to see the radar gun and he said he deleted it so basically he couldnt prove i was going 71
