So I went to tune. He could do it with my lowness or my tires so he lifted it and swapped rims and tires ($$150) then got it on the dyno to figure out my turbo bearings are dead so we didn't tune it. Hooray. So 70$ in gas plus 150$ in nothing. 20$ for food. And nothing to show for it. FML. Well I guess tax time is bringing me injectors and a turbo.

drake if your looking to stay somewhat around stock with a turbo setup one thing you might want to look at would be a jdm stock sti setup.. i think it's the vf-37..? correct me if im wrong but its a twin scroll setup and from some quick reading your hitting full boost by around 2400-2600 rpm's.. there is a guy on iwsti that is selling his whole setup (turbo,up,down, n headers) for $1800.. i know its pricey but the whole "turbo" game isn't cheap as im finding out myself.. lol.. oh and that setup can pass smog cause its the same dp as a stock sti..

I don't really know what I wanna do cause I'm scared my motor is gonna go if I push it. I have 170k miles. But I was thinkin go VF-39 or 43 with pinks until the motor goes and then upgrade, cause the plan is a stock location G35R. But that's later down the road

here's the link to what i was talking about..
FS (USA,CA): VF37 twinscroll kit & 02-07 WRX/STI 5Zigen cbe - Subaru Impreza WRX STI Forums: IWSTI.com
the big variable that you have is your motor.. i mean 170k is quite a bit so i dont know what your plans are with that but i would be more inclined to look for a motor or something that you could rebuild cheap.. jdblock has one on here that was in working condition with only 35k on it and i know the car he owns cause it was a old friend of mine car.. its obo so make him an offer.. he's a good cat, i've bought stuff from em before..

i agree that a vf-39 and pinks is a smart and reliable way to go but who knows how much time you have left on ur block.. with the sti sb you could do a hybrid setup or just the stock sti heads and run a atp 35r no problem and with minor mods be pushing 400-500 at the wheels.. i know the uncertianty that your going through cause i've been/go through the same crap.. lol.. thought i would just share my .02
