Somethings wrong with my car...in any gear right around 3k when I'm supposed to hit boost the car feels like the clutch is slipping but its not...I hear the turbo build up boost but nothing happens and then I hear the turbo spooling back up

My exhaust note sounds consistent but the turbo is hiccuping it seems and its boosting one second than gone the next

happened first on the freeway this morning... pulled over reset ecu with AP and it was gone the whole day, drove around sf with no problems til I just got back on the freeway

Boost feels fine after I mash into it but somethings up gaaah not again!

No cel either...only one I've gotten is 1312 for egt sensor in catless up but that hasn't popped up since last week

Dude that's weaksauce. Is that your stock turbo? Maybe the seals are gone. It sounds like what happened with my last turbo when it went out and with this one as well.

You smelling or burning any extra oil?

My blown turbo would lag for a while than boost way hard and was way inconsistent.... I had no shaft play but the seals were gone letting oil blow by. Good old' td04.. I want a VF series turbo!!

That's what mine is doing. Gonna get me killed trying to get across 101 in aromas. I'm just tossing another TD04 in... my third. I could get a vf34 but I'm just gonna wait until I do my motor swap. If I got 2.5 I'm getting an 18g xt. If I go 2.1 I'll do a 16g xt or a vf34 or something like that.

Update..so I reflashed my ecu again, and drove from hmb-santa cruz with no problems...made up to 10.6lbs which is still low but better...no stalling/hiccup and wastgate duty back to normal...

Super weird but it happened on 280n this morning and 280s this afternoon between 101-19th ave

That stretch of road is very grooved and vibrates a lot but no idea what effect thatll have on my wastegate function, or why resetting my ecu fixes it

check your tmic to manifold couplet. That caused me to have a major boost leak of up to like 5 lbs.

Might have a faulty actuator on the wastegate causing it to stick open or stick closed...rough road might cause it to rattle and get stuck closed. Spray the arm and actuator with some WD40 and see if that helps.

Why does resetting the ecu make a difference?

hmm thats a good point... maybe your boost solenoid is going bad? kind of a weird string of events though....

I thought I solved my brake light/battery light coming on issue a while back but the lights still come on. Did some more digging and some peeps said it could be my brake fluid. Im going to order some ate blue and stainless lines soon and see if it takes care of the issue.
