North Nevada Rally July 6,7

As we usually do this time of year- we are looking for volunteers to help working controls and stuff for the North Nevada Rally, which takes place NE of Reno Friday and Saturday- this year on the weekend following the 4th of July.

This is a great chance to get out in the sun, see and hear some awesome rally cars doing what they do, drive some awesome stage roads and make friends with other crazy rally people.

The web site is North Nevada Rally and there is a link there from the homepage for volunteers where you can set up an account and get registered, we will then hook you up with a stage crew (let us know if you have other friends signing up that you'd like to be assigned to work with) and send you more information as the date draws near.

Our permits do not allow for us to have any spectators, so this is really the only way for you to get out and see the action- I hope we will see some new faces as well as some of the regulars that have been helping us for the last few years!

It would be particularly cool if some of the local meet groups can get 4 or 5 people together as you could have your own control, we'd hook you up with one rally expert for training and a HAM for communications...

I have wanted to do this in the past as it sounds like a metric ish ton of fun. Seems like something comes up every year. Gotta go see family that weekend this year. I have been studying to get a HAM license specifically to work rally events.

Maybe post some pics of last years event to get some more bites.

IM IN!

But seriously, I have been seriously contemplating heading up for the weekend, however, not sure if I would have a group willing to put in the work to actually volunteer. They are more of the "drink, check out bad *** cars (and girls), and drink" kinda people.

If they can just wait for the sweep car before partying- we'd love to have their help, but there is the need for a little bit of responsibility that comes along with it...

Yeah I still need to get those from Hoche... any chance of rounding up anyone else? I still think it would be cool to have an "i-club dominated" control crew or two...

Depending on where you re assigned you might just have to.

If you have a roll cage fire suit and Helmet with HANS device so you can do "at speed" safely- you shouldn't be volunteering, you should be entering.

But we would really rather not have to dispatch our sweep crews or medics to go after any of the workers... so try to keep that in mind.

I'll be up there Friday night. Most likely to spectate, but might be able to help at the i-club corner.
