I used to drive a Honda as well - the Civic Wagon, which had good ground clearance. I remember doing a drive with a group from Club SI and finding the smoothest dirt road I've ever seen. It was all SI's plus me and one Subie (Jay you still on here?). When the Subie and I caught up with the rest of the group - after we'd taken our time playing in the dirt - we found them all parked and busy polishing! Dirt's fine if you have the ground clearance and don't mind a dusty car.

The quotas of which you speak are illegal, thus why they don't actually exist. "...California law prohibits punishing police officers over the number of citations issued..." (The Newspaper) If officers are issuing tickets to fill a department stated quota or "performance goal", the ticket could disappear and the department gets the book thrown at it.

Self-fulfilling statistic? You expect there to be more at the end of the month, so you will notice more. The number may be the same, less, or more, but the actual number of officers on the street doesn't matter. If an officer sees something illegal, they ticket or arrest. Simple solution is to not give them a reason to stop you. Granted, our cars are probable cause on wheels, but relax a bit, they're not out to get you.

I live on East Cotati Ave. and I can tell you that the cops here are out to get you. if you go 1 mph over the limit here you WILL get a ticket.
oh and yesterday (the 31st) there where 2 cops with in 2 blocks pulling people over in the morning and when i came back home in the after noon they where still there.
and yes I have heard that there is no quota but I still think it is kinda odd that this goes on at the end of the month.

This does not mean they are not "encouraged" to write as many as possible by the end of the month. I dunno for sure, but I have seen more cops out in the last week than in the rest of the month.

Ok we'll not worry about "our public servants". Date set for the beginning of the month..

Keep the ideas coming for what we want to do.

I was thinking of rather than one big group have 2 or 3 small organised groups cause thats what happened anyways on the last run, we all got split up into smaller groups anyways. Whereas at least if the groups are small and organised everybody should get through the route without getting lost.

Also the person in the lead should always make sure they can see the person behind them. Its not up to the person behind to keep up but more the person in front to slow down, especially when it comes to crossroads etc..

If we have set meeting up points along the way kinda like what we did before it should work out. but from what the route looks like for now there are few crossroads i.e. less chances of getting the group split up.
