New Years Day anyone up for a "Hangover tour"?

Thought it might be fun for a few of us to go find some twisty roads for the first day of the year, who'd be down for that?

Roo and I and another Forester owner were planning on a New Year's Eve drive out in the West County. New Year's day I usually feel like a slug...

Ive never gone on a drive with fellow subie drivers, if its dirt or muddy roads I would be very interested! Although, my clutch has been slipping on and off

I have to work a show NYE, but might be able to take a quick zoom with you in the morning.

As for NYD, from the weather forcast, I'm somewhat expecting rain, so we may have enough sliding around without venturing off paved, and to get to good unpaved roads is a half-day trip itself.

And I'm looking towards the delta and sierra foothills for a venue, I haven't been driving out that way in a while

Well, I posted this in the Legacy GT forums, so maybe we might get someone from over there who likes to drive.

OK so it sounds like Roo and I have somewhat different agendas, here's the deal- He wanted to do a drive on Saturday, I thought I might be up for that too, but my plans have changed.

Since I have to work Saturday night and have a guest visiting for the weekend, I was preferring to do a tour on Sunday when I won't be hungover, since I'm working an alcohol free venue- but most of the rest of the world will be and we'd have some of these roads to ourselves.

So maybe there are in fact 2 drives being lined up for next weekend, Roo's "Pre-celebrations" cruise and my "Drive it off" tour.

I would suggest mine may be a bit less brisk since I expect some of us may be a feeling a bit slow in the morning Sunday.

Ya, i have know idea how i'll be feeling that morning. I'm going out and will have a limited amount of wine, so chances are that i'll be just fine. I only do my heaviest of drinking when i stay home.

but i still need the details man.
where do you plan to meet?
and what time do you want me there?

Yeah, I don't think we'll be tearing up the roads either with the current storm situation... The Russian River might reach flood stage by tomorrow afternoon, and I'm sure there'll be some road closures due to flooding, especially in the West County. According to the forecasts we could see up to 10 inches of rain between now and Saturday morning!

OK, I'm beginning to think that this weekend may not be the best timing... lots of road closures here already due to flooding and mudslides, and it's only going to get worse with Friday's storm. We may have to postpone the Sat drive.
