More local TSD rallies, not to be missed
Porsche Club is putting on "Moonlight Monte-Carlo" this weekend;
http://www.pca.org/zone7/index.php?p...RallyMoonlight
And SCCA/FIAT club are co producing Targa Times 2 next weekend;
http://www.sfrscca.org/Rally/documen...mes2_flyer.pdf
(the flyer is missing the information that the start is in milpitas)
Both of these should be really fun events, I pre-checked Targa Time and it is an awesome tour of many of our favorite east bay driver's roads.
I can't make either of these, so I hope a few of you can get out and represent i-club, (maybe kick a little stuttgart a$$....)

We might do the Porsche one this weekend.. Registration time is 2:45, first car out at 4, then finishing up around 8 - it happens rain or shine.
It would be a good introduction to Monte Carlo-style rallye... thing is, there's Doc Wong's in the morning, so we'll have to see

I will definatly be on The Moonlight Monte Carlo. It is my favorite rally of the year. You need to try this one Pete. Maybe next year. I just found out about the other one. We'll see.

We're heading out in half an hour (in the rain) to travel to SEMA, then spend a week down there...only to get married, and have the Laughlin Adventure Rally as a honeymoon!!

I'd say the rally could be safer, but it both cases its really up to the driver

Morning: Had a good time -- small group of about 8 cars, one other Subaru. Moderate pace, but with one downhill to be really careful on. The Miata in front of me had a front tire go into a ditch when he couldn't make the second hairpin in a sequence of blind hairpins. Broke some of the geometry... had to be towed out.
Afternoon/Evening: Ran the Midnight Monte Carlo with the Porsche group. One other Subaru (Hi, OldGuySTi!) who ran with the experts. My regular co-driver had to cancel at the last minute, but I found a replacement at the Doc Wong drive! A great introduction to Monte Carlo... I loved it. Very tricky.
It was a fast (and in some parts, very fast) all tarmac rally from 4-8pm along the Skyline hills and Rt 1. We placed 4th in the beginner class of 6 and got a little diecast Porsche as a prize. 8th overall out of 10 drivers total. Not bad for first timers, but we fell for most of the tricks

I'll definitely do this rally again, and I'm looking forward to the Starlight rally (which is apparently back this year)
