Monterey Bay Laureles Grade Drive
Saturday September 23rd
Meet at *** Hill Parking lot in South Salinas
right HWY 68
left on Laureles Grade
left on Carmel Valley Road
Carmel Valley Road turns into Arroyo Seco Road
left on Fort Romie Road
Fort Romie Road turns into River Road
left to stay on River Road
right on HWY 68
Finish at *** Hill in South Salinas
Should be pretty fun. Invite whoever you want, it's going to be a drive, and although spirited driving will be allowed, we won't tolerate anyone trying to drift.
Be aware that you drive at your own risk, and we have had people get tickets for wreckless driving in the past. The grade is usually cop free, but when we hit the straights, I'd advise to keep it under 100, there are sometimes cops in the straight shots.
Let me know who plans on coming, we might even organize a bbq after at Toro park. I'll have maps and a list of phone numbers for everyone, PM me your info. We'll have motorola walkie-talkies too, we'll announce the channel the day of. Bring cameras and video camcorders, we'll be stopping at a couple places to take some pics on carmel valley road, sooo beautiful!!!

hehe, it's biased to those living in Salinas, cuz we could start it in salinas or monterey, but I think the parking lot is big enough to support the amount of people I expect to come out. This is on some of the local boards, someone wanna migrate it to the mitsu forums?

Carmel Valley Rd. is fun - you might consider a return trip on Rt. 25 if you want to extend the driving. How many are you expecting?
Also, if you're familiar with the area, any thoughts about La Gloria Rd.?

I was driving through there the other week after some camping and was wondering about a dirt passage over the hills from 101 to 25.
