I called Unlimited Laps today and was told that they decided today to cancel the event.





Ok everybody, Unlimited Laps is putting on a track day at Laguna Seca on Sunday November 30th. Thats right, no having to miss work or school

I have talked to them and they said that if we get enough people we can get a group discount (current non-discounted price is $350). Right now what I need is a preliminary list of who would wants to participate. There is already a list from a previous *unofficial* thread so I will go ahead and PM those folks and see if they are still interested. Once they have responded I will add them to this list.

I will post more information as it becomes available (like what the discount is for x number of registered participants).

Please be aware that this is the weekend after Thanksgiving, so plan accordingly!

ok, I think I have everyone that responded on the list

 

im still on the fence on this one since I got some major spending going on that month,that and $350 is a bit on the highside for me.no problem on taking a day so I might just go and hangout maybe take pics also.

 

added some people to the list so I could see how many people are/wish to participate pending the discount. Now that I have 10 people interested I have emailed Hunpin at Unlimited Laps asking A) how many people we need to qualify as a "group" and what the discount will be.

Also, it was brought to my attention that this is the weekend following Thanksgiving, so please be aware of this.

Let me know how this turns out. I want to do Laguna before the end of the year. If this one doesn't work out I have a backup, but I'll need to know asap.

Ok, I've updated the list.

I must say I'm a little bit disappointed with Unlimited Laps. When I first emailed him about a discount he said "I'll be happy to consider a group discount depending on how many entries you can gather up." I emailed him after the $350 price was posted and he said "Well, I usually don't do discounts for Laguna Seca."

However, he did offer us a discount of $25. It isn't much, but it is something. So the discounted price is $325. I will email everyone on the list to let them know.

 

Ok... when & how to signup? I know deadline is Nov. 14, 2008.

 

Tonight (don't have enough time right now to double check I have everyone's email addresses on the list) I'll email everyone and let them know of the discounted price. Once I get responses of who is still planning on attending I'll have to give the last of names to Unlimited Laps so they know who to charge the discounted price to.

 

I'm a bit disappointed too. I also don't like having to get my car inspected before going to the track. They should have a guy there...

Shane, as far as inspections go, a lot of shops do it for free. When I did a track day with NASA I got it teched at the track which was $40, and they told me next to get it done at a shop before hand because its free. Where are you located?

 

If you car is done I'll go. I just need a few days to go over my car.
