Hmm, I believe we'll go ahead as planned. Meet at my house, I doubt seriously anybody will be doing any hardcore installs beyond installing some food in our stomachs.
First order of business is to install the fender braces on Leo's RS. Since Rhett, Leo and I are pretty handy removing fenders, I expect we'll have Leo's car back on the road in around 45 minutes, tops.
The second thing that we need to look at is the fender brace retrofit, which directly concerns anybody who owns an L or OBS. (ie, me, rau, darkonion, sonic_yellow, etc....) I was busy with work this week, and was unable to locate a supplier of carbon steel in strip form. Sonic_yellow was interested in it, and I think we can make one out of the mild steel strip I have. Any work we do on this will be at Rhett's house, which will be nearby. The mild steel version will be just as effective as the carbon steel, but will be thicker to prevent flex on the retrofit side of things, so will be thicker. Thicker plate will have the usual disadvantages. I have a partially complete fender brace pair at Rhett's we can throw on if Jon chooses to do the retrofit out of mild steel.
To Leo: we need to hit that heat shield with the welder, we can't forget!
I'll PM the addresses out tonight, we need meat of any kind if you've got it, all I have is chicken
We're set for tools, and drinks. I have many 2-litres of tasty soda.

Sorry guys. I won't be going. I need to look myself in a room and actually do school work. I have a lot of work to do for school that I can't procrastinate. Hope you guys all have fun.

If you have the parts, we have the tools. An engine/tranny removal might be a bit hardcore by installfest standards, but we've done most anything else.
pm-ing address now, you guys can come anytime in the morning, closer to noon is maybe better.

I got my WRX pedals done and took off my stock side skirts. Pretty productive if you ask me.
Also Leo got his fender braces. Damn Sam, you are the man. I'm totally down for more next time.

yeah, the fitment issue was a bit of a downer, but I'm looking forward to hearing Leo's input on the affect they had.
all in all, was a fun day, was good having you guys over. Jon's car is fast.
I'll keep you guys posted as I look for the carbon steel.

I'll have to grab the pictures from Leo, then make a write up from that. Hopefully I'll get some free time to sling at this project, I'll update you guys with a new thread when I get the pics from Leo.
