I love how everyone talks about rain like its a bad thing.

track days are all about learning to be a better driver. they are fun in cold, rain and intense heat.

 

Yeah Kyle, I would think you would love the rain. Probably would make it more like Rally-X.

 

I have a flimsy REI canopy that usually doesn't work well at Thunderhill because it is windy. But I bring it nevertheless. I'll have jackstands, race jack, etc.

Hopefully my wet tires will be in by then. Tirerack said they shipped.

I tried to install my brake ducting yesterday and horribly failed. If I turned the wheels the full way, I'd start rubbing.

Sounds good. I'll try to dig up some rope. We can tie down the canopy using people's spare tires.

Henry@MachIII, looks like all you need to bring is meat, your dinky grill, and charcoal.

 

We will be bringing a canopy/awning I believe and should have most tools covered if anyone needs anything.

Fun event! The weather was cold but it was bright and sunny most of the day. Tons of track time.

 

im interested to go...how far is it..and can i just go and watch?

 

Event was yesterday. Haha. It was great. I am not sure in relation to the Bay Area. But from Davis, average 80mph up I-5. About an hour. From the bay to Davis is about 1.5 hours. You can take a shorter route by going 680 N, 80 E, then 505 N, then I-5. Not sure how much shorter that is.

 

man... the event was good!!! i had tons of fun! and huge thanks to WILSON for hosting the event! let's do another one in Feb!

 

Definitely a great event. Next time, we'll coordinate and bring out a grill and BBQ meat. Definitely something I don't mind doing once or twice a year.

 

damn it... missed out on this event... having a throat infection and a light fever for the last couple days... hopefully i can make it out next time...

 

Hey. I don't think you were the only one that missed out. I heard that a lot of people didn't show up. I actually woke up late. Really late, but I got there in time to be out on the track by the second run session.
