Sunday the 24th is fine for me. Depending on the starting point, that should take an hour, maybe 1.5 hours.

You should make a new thread for this kellie, with time/date/etc in the first post. I'll make a new map for you if you give me the starting point.

If this works out well, I propose a hwy 236 drive next month, I've never been down there but i've heard there's nothing else like it, and from the map it looks awesome.

I'm down for the HMB meet, but after the drive. So when do you guys think you'll meet up for dinner?

That's a good question. Traffic can totally suck on those roads on a Sunday so the "best" start time is probably like 2:00pm, but that doesn't really work for dinner afterwards. AWD 20T, you drive around there all the time, don't you? What do you think?

Sunday might not be the best day for it... living in HMB personally, the "beach" traffic has been crazy lately... especially with the pumpkin' **** coming up... there may be a lot of traffic out on a sunday afternoon...

I don't know when else we could do it. Sundays usually work best for most people, but the Sunday after the 24th is Halloween. I suppose we could do a Saturday, but some people (not including myself) have social lives and usually have plans on Saturday evenings, so we probably wouldn't have much of a turnout if we did it on a Saturday. You think there would be traffic throughout the ENTIRE drive?

I say we just try it, and if there are any problems, we'll know what to avoid next time.

Err, well, you can put me on the "no social life" list too.

In my experience it depends a lot on time of day, but for day of the week, Sunday is definately the worst. During the week, even if there is traffic people are good about pulling off so you can pass but the weekenders don't seem to be able to understand that not everyone wants to drive 25mph. This is why I said 2:00 start time is Optimal. 4:30-6:30 traffic should be avoided if at all possible.

We could always meet up for a late lunch/early dinner. I'm sure after a long drive, we'll be hungry, and even if we're not, we could still just go hang out at a restaurant and take up a table/**** off the wait staff.

haha "**** of the staff"

I think the majority of the traffic would probably be on 92. But like Dan said, the weekenders love to cruise at like 25 up and down skyline, and up and down 84... and I doubt they are gonna get over for a few cars.

BUT having said that. i'm with Kellie, lets give it a whirl and see how it goes! If it's a blow out, we'll change it for next time and noone will show up

So what time on the 24th and where are we meeting people?

I'm confused. Someone just decide for all of us and start the thread. If people can't make it, fine. If there's traffic, look at the bright side...slow drivers blocking the road=impossible to get a speeding ticket.
