How are the karts at K1 speed? I think They bought our local indoor kart racing place out here in Sacramento, used to be called RPM. I also saw that they're "electric", how fast are they?

They are electric. I actually quite like them. Initially I wasn't a fan. But for a fatty like me, the torque is great and they seem to go just as fast as the gas karts.

They're a bit on the heavy side and there isn't much movement. The pedals move. But it's a very off/on feeling. And it easy to lock up the brakes.

When they're new and in good condition, they're great. When they've been wrecked a dozen, times it goes down hill pretty fast.

i agree. i usually pass people out of corners because of them losing their momentum, but it's harder to do that with electric karts because they pick up speed so fast. when i signed the waiver at K1 Speed SF, i said to the girl working there, "This is dangerous?!?!" she responded with telling me it's electric and i won't catch on fire. honestly, i rather catch on fire than getting electrocuted.

That's near Costco, right? Depends on date & time, I may be down...

P.S. Isn't there an adult DVD store next door?

Do you know if you are required to wear their racing jumpsuit? I hate the one in Burlingame (GoKart Racer)... you can smell the sweat from previous drivers...

Yep, right next to Costco. No racing suit. They don't even require a neck brace. I never noticed an adult DVD store.
