Festival of Speed @ Laguna Seca (May 15-17)

Got an email from Subaru about this (not with an offer for free tickets though )

Anyone else going out to this? I have Friday the 15th off, so I was thinking of heading out with the camera.
  • Friday Admission & Paddock - Festival of Speed $20.00
  • Saturday Admission & Paddock - Festival of Speed $25.00
  • Sunday Admission & Paddock - Festival of Speed $30.00
  • 2-Day (Sat/Sun) Admission & Paddock - Festival of Speed $40.00
  • 3-Day Admission & Paddock - Festival of Speed $50.00

sounds like fun i wanna go on sunday tho i work fridays and sat,...sorry for being dumb what is a paddock exactly? not the pit right?

Paddock is where all of the cars are stored, they work on the cars that aren't racing at the moment, and everything (for the most part) is all out on display. The pit is where the cars currently in the race come in for tires/fuel/whatnot. Thats a general definition

the paddock is probably just as good as the race, especially after a race. haven't been to laguna seca in so long! AMA at infineon is the same weekend.

I'm in for Friday only, so that would be a whole 10 bucks each if thats your plan as well. Otherwise, I suppose I could pony up the WHOLE 20 bucks for myself...

LOL it was vrt's idea and he might back out. Paddock sounds ultra cool so is astro boy the movie! I'll try to see if anyone. Wants to go on Sunday

My boss is going to be out of town at a wedding (I don't know why she's going, there's a 50% chance it's not going to work out anyways) so there will actually be no one to cover the shift if I don't make it. I'll just make her feel guilty for making me miss the event, maybe then they'll take my asking for a raise seriously
