does it also happen if u turn on a/c? It could be a heat shield or something. I had that cow bell ringing problem when I had my evo catback on. It was the heat shield rubbing against the exhaust pipe. Bent it a little and no problems ever since.
It happened a lot when I had a/c on for some reason.
