Hey Angelus - good meeting you and your friends. Felton was super and your smoking brakes were scary! I went over Mt. Hammy and up Mines afterwards. I forgot to check out Frank Raines OHV, though. Darn!

I did some investigation and from what I can tell, Marsh Road does end a mile or so in from Felter where we stopped at the No Trespassing signs. That's too bad -- on my atlas, it shows what would be a great, great dirt road up the mountain ridge.

I have a guess at why so many bicyclists (we didn't go an Calaveras, after all, folks)... the Amgen Bike Tour of California that just happened just broadcast Calaveras and Mt. Hamilton to millions of bikers.

Giving away our best driving spots!

Oops - that's Felter Rd, not Felton... but what I was really interested in was the dirt road at the end of Marsh.. unfortunately, it seems to be private property.

Great meeting you too. Damn, too bad I didn't have time (or the gas come to think of it) to take on Hammy with you. Oh well, maybe next time. Now I just need to order those HP+ pads, about $200 for both front and rear off of tire rack. I guess that seems about right since Focus HP+ pads are $90 for front. Let me know if you decide to go on a drive, I'm free sat/sun.

Vlad.

PS: My smoking brakes:

Actually, Felter connects to Sierra Rd. that's the interesting one. If you're afraid of heights, skip it. You can see the entire San Jose valley from up there.
