anyone for the SHOOT AND DRIVE meet?

I'm definitely down, it's been too long since I've been to LARG. Whenever I'm there I want to go for a spirited drive but I have so much gear. But sounds like tons of fun. I'll let y'all shoot my guns if you pay for ammo. Even my newest baby:

^Thats a pretty simple and clean GI spec 1911. I've heard good reviews on those Rock Islands. Do you have any work done to it yet?
I personally like Springfields the best, they are pretty much perfect out of the box.

doggone it...
i was reminded at work that possibly driving around skyline AND having firearms on board might not be a good idea... lol...
plus since LGR dont allow 50BMGs... i was thinking of going to metcalf range in south san jose instead.

plus they have a 200 yard range!

I'm not trying to be a smart *** or anything but why would it matter if you got pulled over? Is it now illegal to have guns in your trunk when going to or from a shooting range? Even if so, why would they have reason to believe you have any weapons in the car anyways? I'm just saying i don't really see anything wrong with going to Los Altos Rod and Gun Club.

you're not.
think about it for a second...
18-24 y/o males. driving a "hot rod" car. LEGAL firearms in the vehicle.
highway 9 cops/CHP.
personally, i'd rather not have the combo any time...

So long as all of our guns are registered and properly stored (i.e. read up on those rules... no ammo in same compartment as guns, locks and/or cases properly used, etc.), and we are in transit to or from a legit shooting range, there is nothing any cop can say, that's fully within CA law. It's pretty clearly stated in the California Gun Owner's Guide (http://www.gunlaws.com/cgog.htm) which is a direct translation of state and federal legislature. I think the only reason to skip out on LARGC is to shoot .50's. And I guess since some of you have some, that sounds like a good reason to hit up Metcalf . Would y'all be willing to let others have a chance at shootin the fitty's? I've always wanted to...
Why thank you! Yes, Rock Islands aren't too bad, I like the feel of mine. My buddy put on those new grips and painted the trigger and little stuff when he owned it, but I don't plan to do much to it, maybe lighter trigger down the road. Got any pics of your Springfield(s)?
