Any interest in Rallying in 2005?

I've started putting together the SFR SCCA Road Rally schedule for next year, there are a few really fun things lined up;

April 16 Rally to the Rally-X a Monte-Carlo style tour (similar to the format used for Golden West 2004) on Saturday, taking us from the Bay Area to Willows, where the first Rallycross of the season will be held Sunday.

May 6,7 Rim of the World will be happening south out of Lancaster, I've got a "Redwood Rendezvous" styled run/work route if anyone wants to "rally" down there either to work or spectate the biggest performance rally event on the west coast.

May 28,29 we're sanctioning a pair of National Course Rallies up in Bishop, we could use workers for those if you don't like to run trap TSD's, or you might give it a go- it's a whole different challenge, way beyond just staying on time.

Golden West is back in 2005, using some of the same roads, some new roads and a slightly different format, we're looking at July 23,24 for that.

We'll have another course rally here in Marin and Sonoma Counties in October and maybe one more tour either in the East Bay or down by Santa Cruz.

And of course there will be the 3rd annual Redwood Rendezvous Road Rally Adventure Drive and camping trip, October 15,16.

Hope to see all you rally fans out for a few of these, maybe some new faces too?

Talking Umm...

I'm sure you'll see me out there in some form or fashion, either writing, working, participating, or all three.

Hope I can make most of it.

What's happening with Ramada this year? There was some discussion of a group trip down perhaps to work it or just to watch. Not sure if I can go but I'd like to.

Oh yeah, Ramada will be better than ever this year too, I need to be there a couple of days in advance, and I'll be checking the Bishop Rallies on my trip there, but the Friday stages are all a lot closer to Laughlin (one stage is 12 miles away, the other is 50) so it will be a lot less driving for workers and competitors.

Hi Pete, the event in April sounds interesting. I'm afraid though that I will have to limit myself to one day events within about 100 miles of here. Are you going to coordinate the dates with the PCA calander? They have been running two events on the peninsula in October and I would hate to have to choose. Also some of those people might want to go on your events. When you say course rally and tour are you talking TSD or something else?I'm sure I will see you on something. Good luck attracting new blood. I have just about given up hope. I think more of these people play video games then drive. Bill

Hey Pete,

I'm keen to make it down to Rim of the World this year... maybe even work it.

The rally in Bishop sounds promising too, but it's a bit early in the season to be out there... (my favorite roads are still under snow!) We'll see.

Perhaps some of the others as time permits.

And of course I'll make the Redwood Rendezvous again. What a blast.

See ya 'bout.

Hi Pete, hopefully all of the wife-inflicted home-inprovement projects will be over with by 2005, and I plan on coming out to help work the courses. Unfortunatley, just about every single weekend since April '04 has been dominated by landscaping.......ugh.

bushido and I went out and drove the route for the "Rally to the Rallycross" this last weekend, there are some really fun backroads between here and there!

And I'll bet a few of them will be new even to you guys!
