2 TSD rallies on one day coming up!
September 6th, the SF region of SCCA is offering a special dual event rally package- a morning "course" rally on several favorite roads in Marin and Sonoma counties, followed by an afternoon "tour" starting in Marin and finishing in the Napa area.
Both events are designed to be very "beginner friendly", the "course" event being mostly "do it yourself" controls, and the tour being a matter of simply staying on course and on time.
What makes them particulalry appealing is the special entry deal, SCCA members can enter either OR both events for one low price of $25 while non-members will pay only $30.
I think this makes them the least expensive to enter TSD rallies that I have ever seen run under SCCA sanction, we hope that this alone will entice a few people who might not have rallied before to check them out.
For pre-registration or for more information, contact the rallymasters:

J. Toney (afternoon tour rally)

Thanks for posting that Pete. Rik sent me the info a while ago, but it had got buried.
I'm hoping to go, but don't know what car (if any) I'll have at that point.

Today I went to pre-check the tour event, it's pretty sweet, the last couple of legs use a section of road right in the middle of Wine country that I'd never seen before, I didn't think such a road existed...
Hope we'll see at least one or two subaru's out that weekend....apart from mine.

If Silke and I weren't shooting a wedding that day, we'd definitely be all over this!!
Sorry... but keep posting, as we'd love to participate.

Turns out Brian has a party to go to, so I'm back to flying solo ... I really want to compete in the afternoon rally - not work it - anyone out there who'd like to co-drive?
Im really interested in this.. does anyone have a link to provide with more info on this event? Also has anyone been on the route/track? How does it look like for a first time event?

And it sounds like it'll be a perfect first event.

It starts at Day's Inn, 8141 Redwood Blvd, Novato. From 101 Atherton Exit then L to Redwood and right to start. #1 registration is 8AM . First car out at 9AM. #2 registration at 1:30 PM. First car out at 2PM. Both should be fine for first timers. Nobody running the event has seen the course. That's the idea. Hope you come.

Well that was way too much fun! We got a bunch of new folks come out who had seen a notice on the SCCA website. It was really nice to catch up with friends from another car club that I had not seen in a couple of years. Got to drive a Porsche in the morning and a Miata in the afternoon ... a great day.
