ok as a couple of you already know i have to get a smog check since my car is an 02. I am calling upon the powers of the B&N crew to help me out.

are there any smog shops that you guys would suggest?

im pretty sure that i can pass the sniffer test if i put my turbo back back on my car, but the visual test i might not pass since i have an after market header.

do you guys know of any shops that are lenient on visuals? thanks. please pm me

Also if you guys know of any shops that will pass me for a fee i may consider it so that i dont have to go through any of this BS.

Whats done to your wrx again? I know you're running a VF series turbo, pinks, pump, thats all I remember. For the most part they'll pass sniffer and they won't know its different visually since most people are idiots and as long as it looks stock it should be alright. If you're running catless you just need to romp on the highway for a while until it gets warm enough and should pass sniffer. I know a few people that run stromung catless systems like mine (stromung DP, 3rd cat eliminator/high flow cat) and with a VF series upgrade that passes. Obviously if they look under your car and it looks like a shiny helix dp they may fail you on visual. GLIA.

If you need to borrow an axleback I have an 02-03 OEM one.

Well, I might know a guy that can pass you. It costs an arm and a leg, though. About $500, so I would suggest trying Ricky's way first!

haha ya try my way first. I've heard it from a reliable source
Don't just drive around town though. Actually get on the highway for a few min prior to going to smog then you should be alright.

yeah i may have to go back to stock, but the only problem with that is that i may be too lazy to put my parts back on so i may end up selling it all.

dude don't sell your parts unless you need to. you've gone through the trouble already to make it awesome and all. Just put a catback on it and talk to your tuner (i think ed?) to see if you can put a dp and cat back on and see if it will affect the tune just for smog.

thanks sean! i might stop by tomorrow

ricky that is myth for running catless. That actually works ONLY if yo HAVE A CAT. The catalytic converter is designed to work under load (High Heat) It is suggessted if you modify a car with a cat to do that. Trust me, i had my smog guy run my integra on the dyno for 5 minutes at 6000 Rpms under load. Only way i could pass with a cat. If you are running catless, lots of guys use alcohol in their gas. It creates a really clean burning mixture and you will pass the sniffer.

Heating up your car withot a cat is useless. There is no catalyst material to bring to temperature to start the conversin process.

Just an FYI!!

Oh and ricky, hook it up with a radiator, i need tha cooling maan

Hmm makes more sense when ya break it down like that. I guess just put a cat in there and it should be fine then?

haha a rad huh? PM me specs/vin/production date please and I'll see what I can do.
