turbo legacy specs

legacy turbo specs

a buddy of mine is lookin gto buy a legacy turbo here in the us i own a 1995 legacy and don't know much about the turbo versions

!. what liter are they 2.2 2.0 1.8? and about how much for a used one in fairly good condition

2. what should i be aware of problems wise

3. can it be tuned he really wants to "upgrade" the turbo and stuff is that possible?

Car Info: 1998 Subaru Legacy L 5-speed

2.2l turbo, they can be tuned, contact sean at rallitek (www.rallitek.com) for more info on that, they have a modded legacy turbo. I think they've done intercooler (from a rex) and exhaust and some other stuff. I dont know problem areas but they are very hard to find in the 5 speed. I was looking for one for a very long time and ended up just getting my 98 L.

Yeah, it's the 2.2L turbo, although on 95 and later models some had the 2.5, i think.

I have a 93, and it's hard to find performance parts for. Not nearly as easy as the WRX etc. (Links to good websites anyone?)

Mine runs at about 170 HP, and about 185 ft. lbs. of torque.

if you are talking about the ej22t than most ej20 wrx parts work. there are some differances.

It's a closed deck 2.2T 16V SOHC and they only made them from 91-94 for the USDM only. The only factory 2.5T made by subaru is the new ones in the STI, Baja and Forester. The new Legacy turbo due out this next year will most likely have the 2.5T also. The 22B is the only other factory 2.2T made by Subaru but it has DOHC and they are ultra rare.

The Legacy turbo is 160 hp, 181 ft.lbs stock. =)
