No Cobb Tuning equal length headers?

So I asked Cobb Tuning if they had Equal length headers, midpites and exhaust for my Legacy Outback and they said NO! I thought that it would fit. I am not against spending the $40 to have an exhaust shop weld on new mount points if need be. Anyone know of any equal length headers and full exhaust that will mount up to an 97 Outback?

Well, they're not designed for the older Legacy platform, but they may fit the 00+. Unless you really want to make this car a racer, the Equal Length route isn't the best way to go. I'd get a set of Borla SS headers, Random midpipe and have a shop fab up a midpipe and muffler section. It'll sound better too!

Why would you not go for equal length headers? I would think the scavaging effects are worth their weight in gold.

It'd be great if it weren't close to a grand, with a cat and ceramic coating included. The benefits over a set of Borla headers, with a high-flow cat section, will not be too big. Most of the improvement is simply from getting the exhaust to flow more freely.

Besides, i don't want to lose the boxer sound, and EL headers on a Subaru sounds weird.

TWE also offers EL headers, so you may want to check them out.

Can someone link us to an audio on Borla vs the Cobb equal-length headers?

I'd search the NASIOC Naturally Aspirated forum. There are a few guys over there with Cobb and TWE EL headers. The Borlas will pretty much sound like any other Subaru, turbo or not, with a nice, deep sound.

There are some dyno results threads over at NASIOC in that forum, though you'll have to do a search. As for which is better between TWE and Cobb, i don't think anyone has done a side-by-side comparison. Because they're both EL, they're going to both see very similar gains up to a point, where one or the other may be better in certain rev ranges.

Cobb headers fit '03 Legacy?

Has anyone had success fitting the Cobb equal length header to a 2003 Legacy wagon?

I talked to Cobb, but they had no information on fitment. From J5's post, it seems to fit 2000 Legacy wagons.

Have there been any changes between '00 and '03?

The only thing Subaru could tell me thus far is that the placement of the O2 bungs may differ between model years; otherwise routing and pipe lengths are the same.

Thanks in advance
