Keep your stock airbox unless you like the sound of induction noise. A cone setup also risks damaging the MAF, something you definitely don't want to do.

Get a panel filter and remove the in-fender "snorkus". Another alternative would be the Cobb 1999 2.5RS intake, but that's very pricey. It should fit, should get you some more power and is nice to the MAF because of the design.

K&N is not inherantly bad. The people that over oil them are bad though.

I have had a K&N on my 98 GT for the last 70,000 miles with no problems. The key is to follow the directions provided with the "charger kit" and not over-oil the filter.

Amsoil probably makes one, but it's pretty much the same deal.
