you can't really compare these two cars. performance wise, the evo wins hands down. but if you want something more luxury with performance and reliability, go with the spec-b. can't go wrong with either decision IMO

In terms of performance Evo > Spec-B.

The Spec-B is more mature and luxurious. If I were to compare the Evo to something it would be the STI. The Spec-B is a great car, but the two aren't in the same class.....

Test drive all three, and pick the one you like best.

What kind of work? Like entertain clients type work? Or do you just need to show up in something without a huge wing.

If appearances are key to your work, then the BMW is probably the best suited. Good power, and a good name that will impress people. The Spec-B is a great car, but it doesn't impress non-car people as easily (until they sit in it IMO). From what you are saying, I'd pick either of the two over an Evo or STi.

I just got a 05 Legacy GT LTD, dont know what the big diff is between spec b and gt ltd, probably the navi and more power, but as i was saying, i had a 05 bmw 335i and the legacy gt feels a little more comfortable for me. deffinetly a faster car car then the bmw, and its a nice car for work also, like nKoan said "it doesn't impress non-car people as easily (until they sit in it IMO)". I like the LGT LTD alot better then my beemer or is300 that i had.

If you're talking about the new 07 BMW 335i, it's a twin turbo motor. I don't know much about BMW's turbo engineering but am familiar with their E30 and E36 motors. The LGT and Spec B both have exact hp/torque output. The diff. is the NAV, stiffer suspension with the Bilsteins and I think this year you get the limited slip rear diff on the Spec B. But $36K is a lot of money, you can build you own Spec B from a LGT with less money.

If BMW came out with a twin turbo 3 series sports car, then whats the point of having the m3? i think the m series are the only ones that should have turbos or superchargers..........ill be going to a dealership to see if they have any in stock, take one for a spin.

3 reasons for that:

1. E46 M3's last year was '06, the new 335i is an 07 model.

2. E46 M3 is more track oriented, while the 335i is a more friendly daily driver.

3. Next M3 is going to have a 400hp V8.

I know about that lol, and i think i already seen the new m3 v8 at a bwm dealer once, but im not sure..i was just wondering whats the pont of putting a twin turbo in a regular beemer.... turbos are better of in the M series, that way the regular 335i wont be as costly..

Because it's one of the most cost effective ways of producing more power from an engine. The 2006 330i only produced 255hp. The '07 328i (also a 3.0L) produces 230hp (I-6), the '07 335i produces 300hp, and the upcoming M3 will produce ~400hp. The 335i is priced between the 328i and the upcoming M3. The 335i will sell well, and so will the M3 when it's released. It's not about making the car cost effective for the consumer... BMW is a for-profit company.
