Ordered my '05 Legacy GT Limited last night!
Now I just have to wait ~ 6 weeks for it to be built and delivered....
'05 GT Lmtd (Regal Blue), 5-speed, rear spoiler, STI short throw shifter, Subwoofer, Autodimming mirror/compass, and wheel locks. Ended up paying $100 under invoice....
It is going to be a long 6 weeks of waiting!

It will be worth it. I just picked mine up, almsot identical to yours with the excpetion of the shifter. You got a killer deal.
I've only driven this car for a day and it is one fine machine.
My previous ride was a WS6 TransAm. Fast while straight, unrefined and clunky. I miss the V8 roar but the overall perf and handling of the Subaru is undeniably superior. Not to mention it's not a big tacky red-neck lookin' beast that sucks gas like a sponge.
It's one good looking machine and it drives like a dream. It's gonna be hard keeping the RPMs low over the 1000m break-in.

The two cars are night and day. When it comes down to which is more fun to drive I have to say the Legacy wins hands-down.
Like I said I do miss the roar of the LS1 V8 but I do not miss the way it handled, which wasn't too bad considering the design.
As far as build quality (both in and out) the Legacy is superior.
In a nutshell the Legacy is precise where the T/A was "close enough for government work." On my T/A I had an interior trim panel that would pop out if I cornered too hard, by which I mean harder than an old lady. Seriously. Never mind the creaks and groans and clunks from the rear-end that were there from day one.
I am still getting used to driving a car with a turbo charger again (previous to my T/A was a Talon TSI). I find myself launching very hard on the way to work and I'm not even trying.
I don't know what I'll do if they build a Legacy STI. :-)

Mine has over 1000 mile it. Last night was the first time, full throttle in 3rd gear. I was getting on the highway behind a trailer and four other cars. I looked over my left shoulder and there was no one in the three lanes of road. I floored it at around 3000 rpm. Man, what a ride, Pulled the wheel to the left to pass the cars and just let it run. It felt great. Amazing car compared to my 00' GT wagon. Lots of pull.
I know what you mean about pulling away from stop signs, a little throttle in 1st in it just takes off.

I have about 1800 miles on mine now, I have owned it 16 days. The exhaust is getting a nice tone to it. You can hear it grawl when you hit the throttle to down shift.
I would suggest you tell the dealer you want some spare plastic clips that hold the engine cover on. I pulled mine yesterday and two of the clips fell onto the bottom tray. I found one by hitting the bottom tray with my hand. I'm now short one. Not that I bothered to put the cover back on.
mccory, can't your dealer get the car from another dealer. Mine came from a dealer in NH. My dealer just called them what and did all the work. I had my car in a few day's. Why do you have to wait 6 weeks? It's not like it's something special. Subaru makes all the car alike. The car you want is out there close to you. You can go to Subarus web site and view the inventory of all the dealers. You shouldn't have to wait.

They looked but couldn't find one optioned the way I wanted it.
The spoiler and 5M /short throw are a little tough to find...
It isn't all bad...sure, I have to wait a bit, but at least I know that I will be breaking the car in.... not someone else... =)
