noticed a misfire under load: 2006 Legacy GT

Was on interstate 101 this weekend, at about 80mph. When I dipped my foot into the throttle, the car had a slight misfire and stutter before it would accelerate- felt like ignition breakdown. Off idle acceleration is clean and strong. The car is a 2006 Legacy GT 2.5 turbo, with 5spd auto..

Now the car has since stopped doing it and no CELs.

Any ideas????????

Thank you.

I've never noticed anything like this in my wife's 05 LGT. Were you in normal or sport mode on the transmission?

PM user: sonicsuby I think his mom was having a similar problem in her LGT.

Yeah that does sound like what my mom had. She has an '05 LGT auto and noticed under light load, especially uphill that she would occasionally get stuttering. It sounds like a pretty common problem - there's a huge thread about it over on LGT.com in the warranty forum. My mom hasn't had hers fixed yet (to my knowledge).

Some claim it is actually an ECU problem, which can be fixed by the dealer. Others claim this fix doesnt' work.

I've also heard a theory about a dual-mass fly wheel, which wouldn't affect the auto-cars.

Dunno, take it to the dealer, there is supposedly a TSB for it, so it should be known.
