ideas anyone?

hey guys,

i have a 1997 subaru legacy l wagon. and am looking to make it a bit sportier, i want it to be a quick car, but not have the appeal that cops look for. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas just to start off with to make my subie just that much faster, let's start now with cheaper, basic ideas. nothing to complex. Thanks

Lightweight crank pulley, and possibly a whole pulley set.

Headers, either equal- or unequal-length.

WRX or STI muffler.

a simple suspension upgrade would make it sportier, get it lowered and a bit stiffer.

+1 on the suspension upgrade

new lightweight pulleys would not increase the power, but they would greatly increase the rate at which power is transferred by reducing the mass at the crank.... con of this of course is that by having a reduced mass, the engine doesnt hold the revs as much, which means more engine stress with the AC on and during uphill drives...
