50\50 split AWD on 99 Legacy?

50\50 split AWD on 99 Legacy?
Is there a way to make the 99 legacys an even 50\50 split. I heard that a couple of Subarus could have a fuse or something pulled to turn off the AWD and make it 50\50 4WD.

Car Info: BF Legacy 1991 L+AWD White 5 spd
If it is a 5 speed manual it is already a 50% 50% split to begin with
If it is a Automatic it has front bias AWD and by removing the fuse you are disableling the AWD which is electronically controled and making it FWD for towing purposes only!!!
