2005/6 Legacy STI

Any thoughts on how hard a conversion from a 2.5 GT Wagon, into the Japanese only STI Legacy would be? Costs...?

i'm sure if you did a search you would find that it would be pricy, unless you could source cheaper used parts. The question i have for you would be this: what kind of fundage do you come into this conversion with? I mean, how jdm do you want this car?? RHD?? The motor would have to be pulled and swapped as well as the larger vf39 turbo. but you could save some $$ and keep you block, swap intake manifold and upgrade turbo. Explore your options as far as transmissions go. If i were doing this swap, i'd set aside atleast $12k, but that's me. hope this helps

Pretty much what ^ said. It will be expensive to say the least. Not to mention alot of body parts will have to be changed also.

There is no 2005/2006 Legacy STi (like the WRX STi). Subaru has a Legacy "Tuned By STi" version, which is just a Legacy 2.0GT with an assortment of STi tuning parts tacked on it. That car uses the same 2.0L turbo twinscroll motor found in the 2.0GT. What parts exactly are you trying to swap over to?
