Why do I find that *VERY* hard to believe?....esp. with a FWD car, that is limited to 170 ft/lbs of torque in 1st and 2nd gears.

Subaru now hold the record for most letters used in a car title.

So lets get together and make this happen!!!! Though you guys wanted to know!
a mass email campaign isnt going to make subaru do anything. everyone and their grandma could write, and only a miniscule percentage of the people that actually write would buy it, even though they all say they would buy it. plus its not over here for other reasons, not because there is no demand...

Translation: Interesting Seat

Check out the seats mentioned at the bottom of the page. Babelfish sometimes translates things a little strangely..... Or maybe Subaru is trying to imply something about their drivers....

Off topic,

I went to my local Scooby dealership, and drooled over the STi and lamented over buying a wagon over the STi. He said that I shoud not fret, I could just pay off the WReX and buy the Legacy STi when it comes out, the turbo H6. Ive heard rumors about this beast and the STi forester. But this was the first time some one "offical" actually said something to this effect. Just curious if anyone has more info on this.

Doesn't mean that we can't get the accessories from some place.

In Japan, Subaru released WRX STi spec-c TYPE-RA. TypeRA has been a familiar model in GC8 and was famous for the race ready stripped down model. In GD model, Type RA existed for a really short time after the initial debut. It was offered in GDA-A and discontinued soon after... In GDB-B, WRX STi typeRA spec-C came out to fill the blank with more power (VF34) and less weight (no trunk carpet for example). In GDB-C,D,and E the the name typeRA dropped and it was simply WRX STI spec-C. Now along with WRX STi spec-C, there is WRX STi spec-C TYPE-RA, to add more confusion. This time typeRA is different. It is not a striped model as it used to be. Instead, it is a luxury model of Spec-C. It has Auto AC, STi carbon fiber wings, V-limited chin spoiler, electric folding mirrors, STi 17 inch rims... but its still spec-C.

The red is specially offered as an option. Very similar or the same color as GDB-C limited.

So why is Subaru doing this?

This is my guess
Currently only STi is homologated as a FIA rally/race car.
Subaru is trying to homologate the WRX STi Spec-C (officially true)
.... needs more volume to pass the FIA rules
.... thus WRX WR-limited (based on specC) and this Spec-C typeRA (based on specC) Both of them counts..
AFAIK only the WRX STI Spec-C has been homologated:

homologation info: http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/e/GRN/bulletins/040902.html
quite a few "details" would have to be sorted if anyone wants to use a STi Spec C RA for Group N. On 2003 and 2004 only the regular STi was homologated.

Carlos
