Xenon headlights

I'm thinking of getting some Xenon headlights. What should I be looking for? Brands? Size? How much would they cost to get them installed? I have a 2003 WRX

Lol - its gonna **** with your beams if you just put HIDs into ur halogen headlamps. It will mess with your bream fractures/reflections since the halogen and HIDs have different housings/reflectors. Just get brighter lights like Osram Silverstars so you wont blind people. otherwise u'll blind people and **** them off. i swear i got blinded so bad by some **** inna scion with like purple HIDs that lit up the Freeway signs from hella far away. Retrofits the way to go. =)
S2k lights ftw.

i was looking at osram for the projectors on my 06 but didn't find any that would fit ... any other ideas for halogen replacement bulbs that would increase brightness without going to xenon. plus this is a lot cheaper and safer for other drivers.

The best 9007 bulbs presently on the market are the GE Night Hawk 9007NH (Wal-Mart stocks these) and the Philips VisionPlus 9007VP (Kmart has these, I think). Avoid Sylvania Silverstar/Ultra, Wagner TruView, PIAA, and all other brands of blue-glass "extra white" bulbs. They are a scam; despite the advertising hype, they significantly reduce headlamp performance rather than increasing it.

Its true what Dynakus said. Putting HID's into a Halogen based lamp is bad as the reflectors will make the light beam bounce all around the place and most times will blind oncoming traffic unless you aim your headlights low enough to the point where it won't blind oncoming traffic yet still functional for lighting purposes. People will say to get the '04-'05 STi headlights w/HID's but with the cheaper route, you could go with aftermarket HID's for you bugeye. I believe its 9006 bulbs for your lowbeams.

The element in HID's is not in the same place as traditional bulbs. The reflectors in the headlight are designed specifically for the element location of traditional bulbs. If you get HID's the reflector will not be lined up correctly and will throw light all over the place.

Go with one of the bulbs I suggested.

I did Xenonworx (distributed by Metra) in my '06 2.5i and they work great. It isn't plug and play like replacement bulbs because you have to get a signal from the factory wiring to the ballasts then back to the new bulbs but is totally doable. Definitely recommends; I do have to run low beam more to not blind traffic but HID in low beam is awesome.
