Wide Wagon Project
Wide Wagon Project
I will be messing around my wagon and getting the wide front fenders and rear quarter panels fitted onto my wagon.
I have the following stuff ready:
1) a pair of jdm sedan front fenders, if you wonder wtf is the difference, there is not much but the side marker that comes standard on jdm wrx
2) a pair of sedan doors
and i need the following:
1) oem sedan front bumper
2) 1 pair of sedan quarter panel
the project will start with the front first, which is the easy part.
does anyone have any experience with the rear? me and my body guy stared at the wagon and the sedan whole day yesturday and decided that we will keep the wagon taillights and the wagon rear bumper, since the taillight is completely different and the hatch is 2 inches wider than the sedan trunk at the bottom
any input will be greatly appreciated.
thankyou.

There's a guy on the East Coast that has done this. He did his rear 1/4's also. He might have some good hints for you. Try searching wide body wagon on both here and Nasioc. Hope this helps!

Car Info: MY04 aspen wrx wagon.
Front doors are the same.
It's the back doors that are different.
To do the rear end you're gonna have to have a seriously talented body man and an extra car cause it's gonna take a freakin long time. It's not just a bolt in deal.
The lines on the rear doors are very different between wagon and sedan. How are you gonna get the rear quarters to line up..just chop and weld?
Good call on the JDM fenders..nice job. Very sought after parts right there.
Talk to LIC motorsports. I think they have a bumper. You'd just have to paint it.
I don't get why they didn't do this from the factory...lame.
If they ever come out with an STI wagon for the states they should do this.
Let us know how it comes out. Too much work for me, my wagon and my budget..haaa.
