Where to mount Hella Supertones?

I know everyone mounts Hella Supertones behind the grill but what if you're like me and have a Hayden 403 tranny cooler and an oil cooler in the grill area... anyone know where to mount them?

Also, who has a GOOD set of "step by step" instructions to mount those bad boys.

thanks, Eric

how big is the transmission cooler? my supertones came in yesterday, and i've been thinking about how to mount them. there is a bar with two threaded holes in in from the factory that runs in from of the radiator. one of the factory horns is mounted there. i was thinking about making some custom brackets, and using those threaded holes to mount the horns. depending on your fabrication skills, you could proably make a bracket that would attach where most radiator shrouds mount, that would drop back behind the grill.

how big are the tranny and oil coolers?

Hmm that's not a bad idea... you're talking about a braket that's shaped like a "Y", right?... or even something like a corner brace that's shaped at a 90 degree angle. one of the arms would have to be much longer than the other so they could sit side-by-side.

PM me or post here if you figure anything out. Once i get my horns (in a couple days) i'll let you know. In the mean time im going to look for a bracket from home depot. maybe i'll get luck

the tranny cooler is what's in my way. it takes up the complete side of the radiator.... no room at all.

yeah, the bracket (or whatever it is) that i was looking at was in the middle of the grill, and shaped kinda like a "Y" with the top filled in.

when i figure out just how to mount these suckers, i'll be sure and take some pictures and post them here. im guessing that i'm going to end up building a bracket from scratch, the last time i was at Hell Depot, i don't remember seeing anything that would work.

Cool

I don't have the supertones at my disposal right now so it's hard for me to get an idea and play around with them.

I mounted mine to the center vertical support. One on each side.
I just ordered a new grill and when I get it I will fab a bracket for them.
I have seen some mount them from holes in the upper radiator support cross bar. There are several existing holes there to work with.
Whatever you do, use the the supplied relay with a seperate positive to the battery. They are LOUD if you do so. I love to make ppl on teh sidewalk 'jump' by giving them a squeez of the 'Tones.
I also kept both stock horns, too....
