tinting question
I am looking to get some tints put on my Black 2002 2.5RS and was wondering what percent some of you guys have gottne and at what cost. I was thinking maybe 20%, also i live in NJ and i know it is illegal to get the front windows tinted at all. So my questiobn is , how does the car look with only the back 3 windows tinted. Any of you guys go this route. I know most of you tint all the windows despite the laws, but i feel it is just to much of a hassle to find the work arounds for inspection and avoiding the police and such.
So what do you guys think? Got any pics of just the back three windows done and do you like the look. Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Got the 04 WRX windows tinted here in MA. Got 35% all around-except the front including the driver and passenger windows, all the same amount. I liked a lot that it looks even all around instead of the back being darker. I WISH I could have gone down to the next shade lower, but decided to keep it legal.
For the wagon, with all windows- including the driver and passenger's side- it was $250. (BTW, here in MA you're allowed to do the front 35% tint up to 40% of the way down, but from there 0%- thought that would look stupid, so skipped it.)
You should check with the State Police for the standard in your state, plus remember the service station will check it during your car inspection, so you don't want to get screwed by going over the limit.

Also... here's a photo of a Silver 04 WRX wagon with 35% (not mine, tho). I found this helpful when I was trying to decide whether or not to tint... I finally got mine done just like his, and it looks very good.

yea well in Jersey you cannot have anything on the front windows (windshield, driver and passenger side) So i was wondering what you guys thought of only the back three windows done at about 20 %. The reason for me not tinting all the way around is because dont want to deal with the hassle of cops and inspection. what do you guys think of only tinting the back 3 windows on the sedan.

35 all around. that's what i'm doing this weekend. I wanted to do 20 all around so that my black wagon could get a stealthy look.
you'll prolly be safe if you do 35 in the front and 20 in the rear. If the cops sees the difference, he'll prolly suspect that you only tinted the rears. I prefer a consistent look, but you'll be safe with 35 in front.

I live in NJ and I'm getting my windows done this week ('04 WRX Wagon WR Blue) but my dad has had his Maxima tinted for a few years now. Whenever it comes time for inspection, do NOT go to the Inspection Station... instead find a local gas station that does NJ Inspections and throw the guy inspecting your car an extra $20. He should overlook the tinted windows, and if you ever get pulled over and a cop asks you how you passed inspection with 'em tinted, say that you had them done AFTER inspection. This has worked for my father, and hopefully it'll work for you and me!
