in my opinion, the reason for the spoiler being so high is because there has been previous versions where the spoiler is completely in the way of your rear view. second, i actually have a different look on how the spoiler works on the new sti. all the spoilers that came on the jdm sti's, the top blade was more angled downwards towards the front of the car. where as the new sti's seems to angle downwards towards the back of the car. because of this, i think the reason they did that was so the rear of the sti would rotate around the track. just my 2 cents
