Sti Hood and Scoop question
Sti Hood and Scoop question
I like the look of a lower profile air scoop, will the standard 2004 and 2005 WRX hood swap out with 2005 STI hood? Previous owner installed a carbon fiber hood with a tall air scoop on it.
Or does it make more sense to have a body shop cut off the tall scoop and fabricate a shorter one?
Thanks

Try to find the oem scoop for the sti, Im sure you can find one from owners moving to FMIC's.
I think downgrading to a smaller scoop on the sti is a bad idea. More fresh air coming in is better than less. Keep your IC cool!

You've got a bigger, better intercooler than does the WRX. Using the smaller scoop would reduce airflow, which you do not want. Pick up a WRX or STi hood (they're the same) with an STi scoop and you'll be set.
I have a 2005 Carbon Fiber Sti hood, unpainted looking to trade for a 2004 or 05 WRX hood.
Your white WRX hood plus $100 gets my Carbon fiber Sti hood.
Other color WRX 2004 or 2005 hoods plus $200 gets it too.
Much easier if in Washington, Oregon or Idaho
