STI Ballast
Hey guys, I have a question. I just bought a set of STI HID projector. But the ballast for the system was shot. I was wondering if any of you know were I can get a hold of some ballasts without having to buy a HID kit. Any help will be appericated. Thanks.
You have the factory HID system, right?
Factory one uses seperate ignitor so it's 3 parts configuration.
HIDbulb-ignitor-ballast.
If you wanna buy a factory balast, It's about $800 EACH.
Ignitor is already in the healight asssemby
Most of the aftermarket kits have ballast and ignitor in one piece so you cannot really connect them with factory wiring harness.
and those aftermarket HID system that has seperate ignitor has different harness than factory so you cannot connect them either.
You can buy complete aftermarket KIT for like $500 a SET, so I'd recommend you to buy aftermarket and replace the factory HID to the aftermarket. But if you really want the factory ballast, I can get one for you.
