shift knob thread size?

shift **** thread size?

im looking to machine my own shift **** and was wondering if anyone knows the thread size(02 wrx)?

has anyone else done this?

Don't know the thread size offhand but you can probably remove the console and pull the shifter to take to a home supply store to match with a metric nut.

Machining your own shift **** is an interesting idea. What material would you consider using? Some owners state that an all-metallic **** sometimes gets pretty warm in the summertime so you might have to throw a sock over the shift **** or use a sun shade if you park outdoors.

thanks for the help. Im going to use aluminum. i am hoping to put an engine starter button in the **** with a flip cover. i still need to find a button that is small enough to fit in.
