RS hood will fit, but it's not alumimun, therefore, it's a lot heavier than the STi hood.

i think if you want to go scoopless you'd want to make sure you have a front mounted intercooler. I have a silver 2004 RS hood, if you want to trade im game.=)

Are you sure the RS hood isn't aluminum? I was surprised to find that the lowly Forester XT even comes with an aluminum hood these days (and it's really light, too, without any scoops!)

Needless to say, I don't think your STi would be too happy unless you move the intercooler to the front or go water-to-air or something...

hey, jon, since awd20t seems to know you personally, and others don't, when you make a thread about changing your STi with things that would block off your TMIC, would you first please say that you're going to go FMIC so that people don't waste their time trying you help you?

"lowly" Forester XT, lol. Are you perhaps refering to the X or XS (cause the XT does in fact have a scoop)?

And the XT is also pretty damn fast. I'm not sure how it's considered "lowly".

The reason I posted that is because there has been at least one other thread where he posts about doing something that would block his TMIC and people try to offer help, then awd20t jumps in saying "he knows what he's doing!!"

It's cool that awd knows him, and that he's asking questions, but seriously, how hard would it be to just say "Hey, I'm thinking of getting an FMIC and I was wondering......"

Not too hard. It would save a lot of people from posting stuff that ends up being useless.

Oops, sorry my bad my bad!! I meant X ... or whatever the base model is. I always get those things confused. Back in the GC-based Forester days the S model was the high-end, while the L was the midrange. Now they've gone and switched things around...

Anyway, umm yeah the point is that the thing comes with a non-scooped aluminum hood. Any confirmation on the '04 RS or am I just making a lot of noise?
