So the previous owner installed a radar detector and had it hardwired up to use the map light power, i don't know what type of detector he had, so i was curious if anyone knows just by what the power wire i guess looks like. It looks almost like a telephone wire. So if anyone knows, or has any guesses i'd apprieciate it!

 

Sounds like a Valentine 1, it uses flat phone cable and RJ-11 connectors for power. It's possible there are other detectors that use the same type of cable, I only have direct experience with the V1.
